Class of 2018 Accepted at Top Illinois High Schools

St. Nicholas Cathedral School’s (SNCS) Eighth grade students’ hard work and SNCS preparation has afforded them with many options as they consider where to continue their educational careers next fall.  The students of the SNCS Class of 2018 the graduates have been accepted for the fall of 2018 at the following schools:

  • University of Chicago Lab School
  • Ignatius College Prep
  • DePaul College Prep
  • Walter Payton College Prep
  • Northside College Prep
  • Jones College Prep
  • Whitney Young College Prep
  • Ogden International Baccalaureate
  • Westinghouse College Prep
  • De La Salle Institute
  • Phoenix Military Academy
  • Golder College Prep

St. Nicholas Cathedral School, stresses academic excellence including the importance of high school readiness. The school uses a strategic approach to prepare students to gain entry to and thrive at college preparatory high schools across the city. Additionally, members of this year’s graduating class have been awarded 1 full credit in mathematics, which means that they will enter high school with a year of math already complete.

The process includes a thorough and meaningful curriculum that addresses today’s competitive needs of students. Students are taught rigorous content area courses, in addition to skills that will help them flourish outside of the classroom. In addition, SNCS faculty met with students and parents throughout this process to help identify the school that is the best fit for the student and help to guide families the application process on an individual basis.

These elements combined help students to value their education, resulting in well-prepared and intelligent young adults who are ready to take on challenging learning at Chicago’s best public and private high schools.

Please join our community in congratulating our 8th graders on their accomplishment. They are testament to the level of excellent education provided by our outstanding faculty, and a point of celebration for the entire St. Nicholas Cathedral School community. Congratulations SNCS Class of 2018!
