On The Threshold of Greatness Mike Ditka Event

On the Threshold of Greatness

St. Nicholas Cathedral School would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to the success of our “On the Threshold of Greatness” evening featuring guests Coach Mike and Mrs. Diana Ditka.

What an amazing evening of friendship and philanthropy.

First and foremost, a big “Thank you” to Coach Mike Ditka for joining us and encouraging us to be proud of our heritage, to be proud of what we have done for the children of SNCS. Thank you Coach Ditka for sharing your thoughts and enthusiasm with us! “Be proud of your heritage; be proud of what you’ve done for those kids. Don’t ever let that change. Don’t ever let them not be proud of who they are. And the fact that they have parent’s like you, and grandparents like you. And you’re putting them on the right course in life. We need those young people to grow up and be the fiber of what this country should be. God Bless.” -Mike Ditka 5/5/16

Our surprise guest, Father Michael Caruso SJ, president of St. Ignatius, spoke of the partnership with our school and of the quality of SNCS students that attend St. Ignatius. Thank you Father and we look forward to a long partnership!

The evening would not have been possible without the support of:

  • Platinum sponsors Heritage Foundation of 1st Security Federal Savings Bank and Selfreliance Foundation of Selfreliance Ukrainian American Federal Credit Union,
  • Gold  sponsors Assurance Agency,  Alan Golub, Dr. Paul and Lyonia Nadzikewycz and Irka Tkaczuk,

  • Mrs. Ira Dychyj and the school choir for performing so beautifully and driving all to tears,
  • 8th grade students Leontyna, Anastasiya, Stepan, Martha and Roma, for sharing their gratitude with the attendees for their support of SNCS,
  • Henry Fajardo (Fajardo Photography)for capturing the evening in photos,
  • Alysia Marro for keeping the evening on target,
  • Mike Ditka’s Restaurant for the amazing service, dinner and drink,
  • Irka Tkaczuk and Motria Melnyk for organizing the event, and especially Motria for sharing her artistry in putting together the slideshow, programs and school photos for all to see.

We’d like to thank Bishop Richard Seminack, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, Saints Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church, the entire staff and volunteers of SNCS, all of our guarantors, donors and evening’s attendees, Heritage Foundation of 1st Security Federal Savings Bank, Selfreliance Foundation of Selfreliance Ukrainian American Federal Savings Bank, and Big Shoulders Fund – with whose support we remain inspired and strong to continue our work in building an even stronger St. Nicholas Cathedral School.
